Visit a Service
We know that going to a new place for the first time is, by nature, a venture into the unknown. We do our best to make sure that your first visit with us is a positive one. Needless to say, we hope you will visit one of our services on Sunday at 10:00 AM. You meet genuine people who are trying to grow closer to God, people who love God and each other.
First of all, if you plan to attend our Sunday morning service, don’t worry about being over or under dressed. You’ll find people wearing whatever makes them feel most comfortable, whether that be blue jeans and t-shirt, a dress, or a suit. Just come however you feel most comfortable. If you have a Bible, bring that with you. If not, we have Bibles available near each chair.
Parking
Once you arrive, you’ll find parking in two primary spots. Street parking (no meters) is available on Milton Street across from the church and you can come right in the front door and into the meeting area. Additionally, there is some parking in our parking lot on Myrtle Street. If you park here, just come into the back door of our main building. Going up the steps will take you right into the same meeting area.
Our Meeting/Service
Once you arrive, you’ll probably hear some music, be greeted by other church goers, and be given a handout with general information about what is going on in the church. Sit wherever you like. If you have children, part way through the service they’ll be directed to either our nursery or our children’s classrooms, where they’ll have activities designed just for them based on their age. If you’d rather have them stay with you that would be just fine, too.
Our meeting will begin with a welcome and a time of prayer. After that, we’ll sing songs of praise that include modern choruses and traditional hymns. Next we’ll give any current announcements, as well as prepare people for the giving of financial gifts. We see this as part of our community’s worship, but we never expect a guest to give. Just let the offering plate pass you by.
A message will be given that will expose each of us to God’s word, the Bible. The goal of each message is to share God’s word in a way that is understandable and relevant to anyone who attends. After the message, we’ll close our service with a song, communion, or even baptism. We do our best to explain why we do these things every time.
A Time to Connect
Finally, we encourage everyone to join us for a time of connecting over coffee and pastries downstairs. If you haven’t had a chance to meet anyone yet, here is your opportunity. We want to get to know you.
