Rev. Stephen Johnson is our pastor here at Fellowship. He last served at Congregation Lion of Judah in Boston where he was the pastor of the English Language Ministries of this predominantly Latino congregation. Stephen graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with his M.Div. in 2006 and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Biblical Studies from Crichton College in Memphis, TN. He has done ministry in Boston, the North Shore, and in the Memphis area where he grew up. Stephen met his wife, Sonia, at Gordon-Conwell where she studied Counseling. God moved Sonia from Puerto Rico to Boston 10 years ago in order to prepare her for ministry, as well. She has engaged in ministry at Lion of Judah with the teenagers and young adults as well as with women. Stephen insists that he would not be able to pastor as effectively without Sonia by his side, and she agrees! Stephen and Sonia have three young daughters named Ester, Sarah, and Hannah. They live in Dedham, convinced that God has called them here to be a part of the community for a long time.
“I’m honored to be here at Fellowship with so many wonderful people called by God to make a difference in this world. I’m excited by the energy and desire exhibited to make this church the very best that it can be. I believe strongly that Fellowship will be used by God to have a great impact on Dedham and the surrounding areas. After 160+ years of history, this church is just getting started. But as with any ‘building project’, you’ll need to look with the eyes of a visionary. This is not because we don’t have wonderful things going on now, but rather because there are much greater things in store for us here. We’re in process, and that means we’re growing. Come and see what God is doing. Come grow with us.”
